– want to follow a refresher course in climbing techniques and safety? But you don’t speak Dutch? Sent me a mail on marianne@verticallife.nl
Okay. So, you’re Dutch.
You like climbing.
You follow everything about climbing. Magazines, Facebook, movies…
But, getting into the outdoors (or indoors) has been a while…
It makes you insecure and you think you might have forgotten some crucial techniques.
I think we can all relate to this somehow.
If not in climbing; maybe in another topic like driving manual after having had a automatic for years. Or connecting electricity cables in your home.
Climbing can be serious business. Little mistake can make a huge difference (in life or death…)
After having seen so many mistakes at my home-wall and seeing so many awkward questions and answers on online forums I’ve decided it needs to change a bit.
First of all, you shouldn’t be afraid, you shouldn’t have to hide it that you haven’t toproped for years. It’s natural to forget things, but it’s easy to re-learn things.
Second, every gym should have refreshment courses available for their own clients safety.
Third, now that it’s actually not available in gyms to follow refreshment courses, I took up the job to do it.
So.
If you have lead-climbed before but you’re not sure anymore on how it works? Follow a course.
If you have followed an ‘indoor-toprope’ course in the past and you want to get back into it? Follow a course.
You’re not sure if your equipment is still up to date and want to know all about how to use these new devices (like a gri-gri and mega-jul)? Follow a course.
Depending on whom will take part we decide the topics of the course.
We can change the topics and make a schedule. It can become a one-hour course, three hour course or even multiple lessons.
Also, if you want any advice on your training and process? Contact us!
Prices and dates:
You choose the date. You choose the price (I’ll give you a suggestion)
This Sunday (August 2. 2015) the course will be free (you only pay entrance).
Location: Monte Cervino, Hoeksekade 141, Bergschenhoek (NL)
I’m sure we can work something out :)
